Allen Alicia Henry I am trying to find info on Alvin T Allen and his wife Nancy UKN. They married around 1879, according to the 1900 and 1910 census. Where ukn. He had a store in the twp of Burke. Lived to be at least 82. She died in 1924 and was a widow at the time, buried in Allene Cemetery. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Alicia
Barry John Barry I am currently trying to find information regarding my great grandfather and his wife who resided in Wilton, Arkansas in the late 1800's. His name was John D. Barry and her name was Emma McCord Barry. He died in 1892 and we think he is buried in Wilton. She died in 1934 and also is reportedly buried in Wilton. He was listed as a Baptist preacher for Clear Creek, Ark. in 1883. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Does Clear Creek exist? Thank you for your help!
Bogan/Bogan Branch Carole McMichael Searching for information on what was once called Bogan Branch in Aleene or Winthrop area in Little River County. I understand that my Bogan family settled there about 1858 and operated a saw mill. Are there any photos? Any records of this area? I believe it was part of Flat Creek. Where is it today? Are there any ruins? Can\'t find it on any census records but my great grandmother & siblings were born there according to her death certificate. Thank you.

Brown Charlotte Ann Brown I am trying to research information on my grandfather MANNIE N. BROWN, born April 1881, and died January 1915. He lived in Lick Creek Township in 1900. His first wife was May. I do know my grandmother was his second wife(Callie Anderson). Marriage records show married in Little River County. I also know he died Jan.1915. My father Lee Roy was only child of Mannie & Callie. Lee Roy Brown born in Little River County (Arden area) Nov. 29,1914. I am also looking for birthplace of Thomas Arden Brown. All census records indicate born in Illinois. Do you have any information about where in Illinois, or the county in Illinois, or any Brown descendants. I know, through certified copy, that Thomas Arden Brown was first married to Elizabeth Anderson born Illinois abt 1824. Marriage permit issued in Jonesboro Union county Illinois in 1845. Since Mr. Brown was a fairly prominent member of you county I thought you might have literature, journals, or even a direct descendant born to Mr. Brown and second wife Lucy A.Love. Any help will be appreciated, since I am also a direct gggranddaughter.

Dover Barbara Smith I am looking for any information about Zachariah Dover born abt. 1828 in South Carolina and moved to Little River County in what year I don't know. The only info I have is an 1880 Census with Zachariah the father and children listed as James Preston, John and Ida Dover. No info on the wife. Foster Carolyn Trammell Am seeking possible resources for locating in Little River County area parents of Maud Ethel Foster. Parents are believed to be Thaddeus O. Foster and Emeline Coursey, but census info I have found seems to indicate Maud's mother must have died before Thaddeus and children relocated to Arkansas. Maud eventually married George Jefferson Trammell (also from Arkansas) and relocated to Bryan County, OK. Any suggestions for possible available records in Little River County would be most appreciated.

Green-Moore Seeking information on the following family: Lee Green - Father Louise Tines-Green - Wife Willie Green - Daughter Van Green - Son Gaston Green* - Son I have been told that Lee Green was married more than one time. I think Louise may have been Lee's last wife. There are children from the previous marriages however, I only have the names of two of them Vale & Branch Green. Harris Donna I am looking for George W. Harris' family.  George was born in Alabama in 1852, wife Agna also born in Alabama in 1852.  I believe he is the son of Thomas Harris born 1806 in Georgia.  Thomas is on the Creek rolls.  George has two sons listed in the 1920 Little River census.  Does Little River have a reservation, or the like, in it's past?

Laymon/Shafer Joann Shonk I am researching the Shafer-Laymon (Lamon)- Lester lines for a friend of mine. Her natural father was Lewis (Louis)Shafer. Believed born 16 Jun 1907 in Little River County, AR. He died when Wynona was very small. Her mother Sophia Laymon(Lamon,etc) remarried and never discussed her father with her and she never ask any questions. She would like to find out more about her paternal ancestors. Sanderson Christina (need email address) James Gardner Sanderson, 1/20/1877 to 7/24/1954, was Sheriff of Little River County 1927 to 1947. He was also a banker and a pony express rider. His wife Carrie used to make lunches for the prisoners in the jail. His middle name is supposed to come from a Miss Gussie Gardner, and I am trying to find a connection to the Sanderson family. James G and Carrie Sanderson are my great-grandparents.

Stephens Shannon Birdwell I am doing research on the Stephens family and I am really stuck. My mother was a Stephens. Her father, Enoch Jesse Stephens was born in Little River Co. Arkansas in 1893. His father, Enoch A. (Anson?) Stephens was 25 at that time, and his mother was Martha Elizabeth Anderson, aged 24. They were married on 8/28/1888 in Little River Co. Enoch A. Stephens died about 1895, probably in the same county. The last records I have of him were some transaction in March 1895 in that county. My great-grandmother remarried to a Thomas Hamilton in OK. They lived in Oklahoma and then they settled in Texas. My mother doesn't know anything about her grandfather's side of the family. My grandfather apparently didn't know anything about his father (Enoch A.) since his father died when he was about two. According my grandfather's birth certificate, his father was born in Louisiana. He would have been born about 1868. Here are the questions I am trying to answer: Who were Enoch Anson's parents and did he have brothers and sisters? Where and when was he born? Where and when did he die? I know he died sometime between a mortgage transaction in Little River Co., AR in March 1895 and the 2nd marriage of my great grandmother in August 1896 in OK. Her parents, last name was Andersons, were living in the Chickasaw Nation territory of Oklahoma according to the 1900 Census so Martha could have joined her parents after Enoch died. Her parents had been living in Pike Co. and Little River Co., AR. Did Enoch and Martha move to Oklahoma where he died? I don't know. My main goal is to find out about Enoch Anson Stephens' ancestors, then to learn when and where (and what) he died. All the other questions would be nice to know but they are secondary. I've researched it in hopes of finding additional clues. I've dug for additional clues such as these: Here is a list of other Stephens married in Little River Co. about the same time as my great-grandparents. One or some of these may be the brother or sister to Enoch, but I don't know of any connection yet: 1. J. A. Stephens and Martha Ann Dickens on 8/10/1895 2. A. C. Stephens and Lina Simmers 1/7/1896 3. Henry Stephens and Barbara Seastrunk 7/19/1897 4. Richard Stephens and Luck Marks 12/26/1900 5. Willie Stephens & Lizzie Davis 2/16/1891 6. C. E. Stephens and Fannie McDougal 12/22/1893 I found Willie in the 1900 census and it says that he was born in LA. He and Enoch were both born in LA so they could be brothers. Willie was in Sevier Co. Vol 36, ED 155, Sheet 9, Line 27. He was born Oct 1870, age 29. It shows that he and his parents were born in LA. They are living next door to Martha Davis who I take is Lizzie's mother. Children listed are Herbert, Bertice and Eddie. I would greatly appreciate any help you could give as this has really stumped me. If you don't have any information, do you know of anyone I could contact that might know something? Thanks very much.
Taylor V. Craig Taylor I am looking for information on the Taylor family living in or around Foreman, Little River, Ark. My great grandmother was Paralee (Broadaway) Taylor and my great grandfather was Thomas Newton Taylor. Paralee died in Foreman in 1925. Their son Hosea Newton Taylor was my grandfather. He married an Esther Ross. A little girl, Leva May Taylor who died between 1914 and 1923 in Little River county listed on the index was a part of this family. She is buried with my family in Pike County Ark. Other children of Paralee and Thomas were: Maude, Earl, Blanche, Doss, Leonard and William. Willbanks Don Willbanks Looking for information Jess (or Jessie) W. Willbanks born about 1875 in Tennessee or Mississippi. He was listed on the 1920 Federal Census in Washington Township of Sevier County and in the 1930 census in Little River township of Little River County. I think both of these are the same place near the Campground Cemetery near Winthrop. I would like to know when Jess arrived in Arkansas and where he came from.

Wright Wanda Taylor Nelson I am looking for information regarding my uncle, I D Wright and his wife, Callie Wright. He was born June 6, 1906 and died in the early 1980's. I do not have any information of my aunt's birth and death. I am seeking to learn the date of death for both my aunt and uncle. It is believed they are both buried in Cook Cemetery near Wilton, Arkansas. I D and Callie are brother and sister in-law to my mother Jessie E. Wright Taylor who was born August 24, 1910 and died July 26, 1993. Mother is also buried in Cook Cemetery in Wilton.
